A real first blog

The things that make my morning so nice....the little things that is....like a warm nice latte first thing in the morning... so warm while its so damn cold out ;-)... best thing ever. how about the dog that comes up to you when he knows that you are up and trys to climb up ur leg to lick ur face to say good morning... silly ? I dont think so...if we dont find the pleasures in the small things then life is a little boring.

One day, I will be opening a little cafe on an old serene street...dont know where or when but its a dream none the less... a small little cafe/diner... kinda frensh/arabic style... come down sit by the window in the winter watch the snow fall or sit outside in the summer listen to the birds. Movie Like ?? i dont care. I still love it...

One thing, i love about mornings.. is the quiteness..I like to be left alone with my own thoughts.. most of the time i am in a happy serene mood unless something happens or someone says something annoying. Subway in the morning.. grrrrrr.... but as long as i am plugged in and have my lovely latte, no one can annoy the hell out of me.... oh and btw when i am in the mode.. i normally sit outside of life and observe in.. does anyone ever do that .. or just me..???

Hugs.....

  1. So Youssef...what time does YOUR morning start?? You always seem to be up so late in the evenings. Zach and I get up at 5 a.m. every day to be to work (30 miles away) by 7 a.m. We are usually in bed by 9:30 during the week. Gosh, that sounds really early. Especially for one who used to work in the nightclub business. I just can't hang anymore I reckon. If we go out for cocktails, I usually have to have a disco nap before we go.

My weekday mornings are pretty routine. Up and shower first thing. Zach and I shower together every day since our shower is roomy (conserve water, shower with a friend). It takes him very little time to get ready. I guess there are definite advantages to being bald, HAHA! Me? Well, I take a bit longer, but I'm never late! I know how long I have and how long I can fart around before we HAVE to be on the road. One of my kitties, Kisses, also has a morning routine. She waits outside the shower, very patiently, staring at me the whole time until I shut the water off. That's her cue to start crying until I can get all dried off and pick her up. It's just a quick little hug and a rub on the chin, but it get's her purring in no time flat. I then put her on the corner of the bed and continue to get ready and she's fine. This is something we do daily....without fail. I'd say she has me pretty much trained. What do you think?

Zach is usually almost done cooking breakfast by the time I get downstairs. It's my job to brew our coffee and prepare lunches for the day. After we scarf down our turkey bacon and eggs, we hop in the car and are off for another exciting day of work...NOT! Actually, Zach loves his job. I hate mine. On the way to work I am usually sipping coffee and checking in on FB and a couple other networking sites I enjoy.

Weekend mornings are a totally different story. I generally have a few hours in the mornings just to myself. Nowadays, my eyes pretty much open at 5 every day. Zach, well, he is still able to sleep in on the wkends and will do so until noon if I let him. I enjoy my mornings of solitude with my coffee, kitties and computer. I try not to do too many chores during these hours alone. I wouldn't want my husband to miss out. I know how he SO loves chores. Eventually, even my own thoughts (maybe it the voices in my head) become too loud and I end up waking Zach and making him get up. Talk to me...entertain me...Love me! Nah, I'm not really that needy. High maintenance? Maybe sometimes, but not needy.

I think opening a diner would be loads of hard work but fun at the same time. I've worked in many restaurants during my career of living and have always had good times. Hey Youssef, we could do a Youssef/Tofer blog about frensh/arabic dishes sort of like a Julie/Julia thing. Do you have any of those types of cookbooks? We could take turns making different dishes and each get some friends to try it and comment. I'd be game!

I am definitely a people watcher and spend a good bit of time looking into their lives. Zach makes fun of me sometimes because I will make up a whole sordid story about someone sitting at the next table or in the car in the next lane or whatever. Hey, it keeps me from flipping them the bird for talking on their cell while driving!!! Now THAT gets on my last gay nerve!! Get off the phone and crash already!!!!

  2. Tofer, you are so cute and a delight to read your comment. Frensh/arabic cafe or diner sounds like fun indeed. Hard work, of course it is, but if I enjoy it, I will put my whole heart in it. I worked in a cafe b4 and enjoyed every minute of it. Making the perfect coffee or the breakfast and see ppls faces light up and enjoy it as they wake up to go to work. Its worth it. As for the routine/ getting up, I dont have much of that. I am still off of school till next week, so my days are kinda whatever at the moment. When i am back in school, still my schedule is kinda weird. I am a thinker and I most productive at night, why ? i dont know, just the way I am. I will get up for an 8 am class and still be productive. I love to sleep but I dont like it at the same time, as sometimes I think sleep is a waste of time. I guess when i am out of school and in a full time job, i will get into a routine like the rest of the world but wouldnt surprise me to stay a night hawk...

  3. Oh not me, at least not in the last few years. I will truly just fall out if it gets too far past my bedtime. And talk about snoring? Oh dear.
